You had a gentleness about you
That is very uncommon
If I could talk to you again
I’d tell you that…
Showed me compassion
And you didn’t even know me
If I could talk to you
I’d tell you that…
Once you left the house
Your scent stayed with me
If I could talk to you
I’d tell you that…
You would’ve made any girl happy
Just by being with you
If I could talk to you
I’d tell you that…
All of this was gathered
At the first and only time
That we met.
We’ll Miss You, Jeff.

(Here's another poem I feel like I should give a little background on. Jeff is the name of a man I met in 2005. One of my close friends at the time introduced us; he was one of her best friends. I had only met him for mere minutes and felt like he was an old friend. I would later joke with my friend that he is perfect for her and that they should at least date. This was only a couple weeks before he killed himself with a shotgun.)
